Interlibrary loan is a service provided by the Massachusetts Library System (MLS) that allows patrons to request and borrow items that our library does not own.
Items can be requested by logging onto the MVLC catalog through this website.  You will be asked to provide your borrower ID number (library card number) and your PIN number.
Commonwealth Catalog - If a book cannot be found in the MVLC catalog, you can search the Commonwealth Catalog from the MVLC website. The Commonwealth Catalog is a statewide collaborative effort of the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners and provides electronic access to holdings in hundreds of libraries in the Commonwealth.

Please search the MVLC catalog first. If the material you want is not available in the catalog, then use the Commonwealth Catalog.
For items not in the MVLC catalog or the Commonwealth Catalog our librarians may be able to obtain an item from another local network or from libraries throughout the country who are part of the OCLC system.
Effective July 1, 2010 - Due to the 28% cut in state tax support for Massachusetts libraries, materials delivered to you from other Massachusetts libraries may experience a delay, or materials obtained from libraries outside of Massachusetts may be assessed a charge by your local library.
